WHY?

In order for us to progress and break from the free from cultural ‘norms’ education starts at home between the parents of the Millennials and Generation Z and the wider communities. The pressures that are put upon South Asian women, the expectations of where they are placed in the family home can often feel very limiting. A ring on our finger isn’t and shouldn’t be our only sole accomplish in life and the person who put the ring on that finger shouldn’t be the one that navigates our destiny. This project initially started as a space to those of British Asian heritage celebrating the hybrid of cultures but first as a woman of South Asian heritage i understand the importance of celebrating women who are taking control and being the captain of their own ship.
